Plateau state governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, on Tuesday inaugurated 8 new Permanent Secretaries in the civil service of the state, with a call on them to be diligent and revolutionise the service through hard work and dedication.

While congratulating the new permanent secretaries, the governor stated that their appointment was based on hard work and dedication after due diligence.

Mutfwang, represented by the deputy governor of the state, Mrs Josephine Piyo, added that the appointments was in the administration’s efforts to improve service delivery in the civil service and fill in existing vacancies created as a result of the retirement of some Permanent Secretaries.

“I congratulate the newly sworn-in permanent secretaries for thewell-deserved appointment to the pinnacle of the civil service, having gone through due checks and consultations. Your appointment was based on commitment, hard work and dedication after due diligence.

“But let me warn that my administration will not tolerate disloyalty, indiscipline, flagrant abuse of office and indolence, diligent service to the government and citizens of Plateau state should be your watch word, failure in this regard will beconsidered as having you unfit and be shown the way out.

“You must therefore, remain focused to join hands with my administration on the implementation of our programmes, policies and projects to deliver the ‘Time is Now’ mandate as this will justify the overwhelming support we got from the good people and citizens of Plateau state.

Mutfwang urged them to bring in their wealth of experience and senseof industry to bear in the civil service being a structured bureaucracy which is based on a long tradition of rules, regulations and guidelines.

He charged them to remain apolitical and work within the scheme and schedule of service by upholding the sanctity of accountability, honesty, probity, justice and fairness.

The governor further enjoined the new permanent secretaries to note that the ‘Time is Now’ mantra is to restore the glory of Plateau state, bearing in mind that their appointment is a public trust which they must protect.

In a vote of thanks, Mr Alexander Nyelong, on behalf of the Permanent Secretaries, thanked the state government for the confidence reposed on them, promising to overhaul the state civil service and give it the credence it deserves.

The newly sworn in Permanent Secretaries are Ali Tsoho Samuel, Mrs Esther N. Pwaspo, Mrs Mary C. Fom, Mr Kelvin Bamshak, Mr Tamba Nuhu Garba, Alexander Anlong Nyelong, Mrs Lydia Vonkat Nantim and Mrs Jummai Adamu.
