Governor Abdullahi A. Sule of Nasarawa State has won the ‘Philanthropic Governor Of The Year’ award at the 2023 Nigeria Philanthropy Award.
The Governor was presented with the prestigious award on Saturday October 28 at the award ceremony held at the National Merit Award House, Abuja.
According to the Organizers, Governor Sule was “chosen because, unlike most politicians who have been swept by the pomp and pageantry of political office, he has remained simple, accessible and humble from 2019, and he has shown as Governor, that his worldview is broad, all embracing and devoid of the parochial sentiment of tribe, religion or ethnic affiliation.”
Represented at the event by his aide, Mallam Yakubu Lamai, the Governor thanked the Organizers for finding him worthy of the prestigious award.
Lamai however said the Governor was deserving of the award because he has proven not to be self-centred but a patriotic leader who has the generous heart to complete all critical uncompleted projects of previous administrations.
