The outcome of the Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja where it set aside the split judgement of the Nasarawa State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal nullifying the declaration of His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule as Governor of the State is a true reflection of the popular mandate given to the Governor by the electorates of the State during the March 18th, 2023 Governorship election.
Senior Special Assistant Public Affairs to Governor Sule made this known in a statement made available to newsmen in Jos on Friday .
He said the Appeal Court verdict is sound and devoid of technicalities as the decision of the Court was based on the merits of the appeal.
” We commend the Appellate Court for the professional, water-tight, sound and firm judgement. This has further demonstrated that the judiciary is alive to it’s responsibility of justice dispensation and remains the hope of the common man.”
He added that the Governor assures the good people of Nasarawa State of his sustained commitment towards the rapid socio-economic development of the state through industrialization and execution of people-oriented projects.
“The reaffirmation of His Excellency as the duly elected Governor of the State by the Appeal Court has also vindicated the Governor and his party of any wrong doing during the governorship election.”
The Governor, in his usual commitment for peace, unity and overall development of the State has extended his hands of fellowship to all members of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, including it’s governorship candidate, David Ombugadu. Governor Sule urges them to team up with him in the quest for a better Nassrawa State in the interest of all and sundry.
At this juncture, we commend the good people of Nasarawa State for their show of restrain before, during and after the Appeal and call on all well-wishers of the Governor and the teeming supporters of the All Progressives Congress in the State to continue in this direction by celebrating moderately devoid of ranchor or any act capable of jeopadizing the existing peace in the State.
We also appreciate all our well wishers for their support and prayers during the period of our appeal and urged them to sustain the spirit.
The state government under Engr. Abdullahi Sule will continue to be fair to all manner of people and segments of the society, devoid of sentiments of any kind. His administration will continue to deliver good governance to the people as encapsulated in the Nasarawa Economic Development Strategy (NEDS) for the good of all the statement further reads .
