Plateau State Association (PSA), UK on Wednesday said it is utterly appalled by the recent surge in attacks on our indigenous brethren in Mangu, Bokkos, Barkin Ladi and other local government areas.
This was contained in a statement signed by the President, (PSA) UK, Rwang David Chall and made available to newsmen in Jos .
The statement reads that ” We vehemently denounce the heinous killings and insist that the Government takes immediate and decisive action to apprehend and punish the perpetrators.”
According to the statement ” This association is deeply dismayed by the deceitful characterization of these atrocities as “farmer-herder clashes.
“We express profound disappointment in the deliberate misrepresentation and misleading narratives propagated by the media.
” Let it be crystal clear – this is not a mere clash between farmers and herders ,It is an outright land-grabbing strategy executed through the brutal massacre of ancestral inhabitants, all in pursuit of ulterior motives.
We demand the federal government to accelerate its efforts in eradicating these marauders and restoring unlawfully seized lands to their rightful communities. Furthermore,”
The statement further reads that ” We adamantly advocate for the establishment of State Policing.”
The group further demanded a state security framework, such as state police, directly under the control of the Governor as the Chief Security Officer, stressing that it is imperative to halt the ongoing bloodshed.
“As an association, we stand unwaveringly united with our people and will not tolerate the mortgaging of our future.”
We call for the preservation of Plateau State and Nigeria.
Long live Plateau State! Long live Nigeria, the statement further reads
