The leadership of Over 300 various ethnic nationalities of the Middle-Belt in Plateau state have passed a vote of confidence on the Plateau State Governor Barr. Caleb Mutfwang and endorsed him for a second Term in office for what they called genuine leadership and inclusive governance.

The vote of Confidence and endorsement which took Place on Sunday in Jos the Plateau State capital had in attendance various community leaders including some critical Stakeholders of the Middle-Belt ethnic nationalities in Plateau state who expressed satisfaction with governance in the state.

Professor Abraham Dogo, who announced the endorsement disclosed, that the leaders acknowledged that despite challenges, Governor Mutfwang has demonstrated leadership quality by stabilizing human and capital development in the state beyond imagination.

According to the Middle-Belt leaders, no successive administration in the history of Plateau has done what Mutfwang is doing, most especially taking in consideration the appointment of Senior Special Assistant on middle belt ethnic nationalities affairs which is the first of its kind and called on other governors to emulate Governor Mutfwang.

“We, the leaders of over 300 ethnic nationalities of the Middle Belt on the Plateau, gathered here, and after a crucial deliberation, we wishes to Express our utmost confidence and pass a vote of confidence in the leadership of Governor Caleb Mutfwang and his deputy Ngo Josephine Piyo. This is because of His commitment to peace, security, infrastructural development, and inclusive governance, which has earned our highest commendation.”

Professor Dogo, who is the Plateau state President of the Southern Kaduna People’s Union (SOKAPU) with over 50 ethnic groups added, that Middle belt leaders endorsement came to fruition after their review meeting which is done quarterly to chat the way forward and unite indigenous people of the Middle belt.

Speaking on behalf of the GONGOLA people’s Forum, the General Secretary Dr. Emmanuel Anonduko, Commended Governor Mutfwang for Championing and unity of the Middle-Belt leaders, while appreciating him for us inclusive governance irrespective of religion tribe or political affiliation, which has said has changed the narrative.

He promised on behalf of the GONGOLA people’s Forum in the state, that they’ll take advantage of the continuous voters registration exercise that would soon commence by way of mobilising subjects to actively participate so they can all vote for Governor Mutfwang again during the 2027.

On his part, the Secretary of the Conference of Autochthonous Ethnic Community Development Associations (CONAECDA) Solomon sukukum, affirmed that Governor Caleb Mutfwang is a leader who listen and act and has made so much commitment in fostering unity and understand amongst Middle-Belt belt nationalities by given them a voice.

Also speaking, leader of the Nassarawa state indigenous people in plateau state (NASITOP) Mr Richard Audu, disclosed, that the vote of Confidence and endorsement of Governor Caleb Mutfwang for a second Term in office is because of his on wavering commitment to the welfare of Plateau and all middle belt people and his developmental strides.

Mr Audu, who described plateau and nasarawa as Brothers, Commended the Governor’s efforts in terms of security and encouraged him to sustain his efforts in youths and Agricultural empowerment amongst others.

The SSA to the executive Governor Of Plateau State on Middle-Belt belt ethnic nationalities Hon. Dan Kwada, confirmed that the battery is actually for a review meeting of Middle-Belt belt ethnic nationalities leaders here on the Plateau, and after the meeting, the people decided to pass a vote of confidence on governor Mutfwang.

 

“What has happened today is just a tip on the iceberg compared to what is going to happen in the coming days, because this endorsement and vote of confidence by the leaders of over 300 ethnic nationalities here on the Plateau is the testament to the governor Caleb Mutfwang unwavering commitment to the welfare of the Plateau and the Middle-Belt people, his efforts on peace and security, infrastructural development and inclusive governance that he has brought.

“We have the southern Kaduna people, we have the ethnic nationalities from Nasarawa state with almost 30 or 40 ethnic nationalities. We have people from Benue, Zuru, Borno, Taraba, Gombe all are here with one voice in unison to passed a vote of confidence on governor Mutfwang because they have never seen this kind of leadership. Governor Caleb Mutfwang has emerged as the new political leader in the middle belt region and the people of the region will continue to look up to him for leadership and direction anytime, anyday”, Kwada added.

Others who spoke at the event include the leader of the Zuru People from Kebbi state Rev. Zakka Ahuche, that of the Egala people Prince David Onucheyo, that of the Chibok people in Plateau state Mr Pogu Dawa, that of the Tiv Community Rev. Semion Kaase among others and all promised to continue supporting the administration of Governor Caleb Mutfwang in plateau state with assurance of going with him wherever he goes.
