Tongnaan Dada Bawa of Plateau State Council has emerged as new National Auditor of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ at the NEC meeting holding in Kano State.
Tongnaan, a member of the Correspondents Chapel, a two time Chairperson of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ, Plateau State Chapter and Zonal Secretary NAWOJ Zone D was elected National Auditor after Akeem Olatidoye of the Kwara State Council withdrew his aspiration.
Earlier, the State Chairman of NUJ Plateau State Council, Ayuku Pwaspo moved a motion for the candidate from the State to be considered .
Until her election, Tongnan Bawa served NUJ Plateau State Council in different capacities and had been a commitment union member with proven records of practice and experience; qualities that distinguish her in the new role.
National President of the NUJ Alhassan Yahya congratulated the newly elected National Auditor and member of the NUJ National Working Committee through a credible process, urging her to be a team player and deploy her wealth of experience in uplifting the Union at the National level.
The new National Auditor, Tongnaan Bawa was presented certificate of return by the National President of the Union Alhassan Yahya.
