No fewer than 500 residents of Jos North Local Government Area have endorsed a former Executive Chairman of the council, Hon. Shehu Bala Usman, for the Plateau State House of Assembly ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement was made during an interactive session organised by beneficiaries of his administration, many of whom were employed during his tenure as council chairman.
The parley, held in Jos, was attended by key political associates, including his former Chief of Staff, Hon. Johnson Nenman, a ward councillor and other members of his political team.
Participants described Usman as a visionary leader whose impact during his time in office positively affected many families, particularly through employment opportunities and grassroots development initiatives.
They also commended his inclusive leadership style, noting that he remained accessible to the people and responsive to their needs while in office.
According to them, his administration brought hope to many households and strengthened confidence in local governance.
The group further lauded his commitment to youth empowerment and community development, stressing that his leadership created opportunities for young people and contributed to stability within the local government area.
Speaking on behalf of the group, some of the participants said their decision to back his ambition was based on his track record of service, accessibility and commitment to the welfare of the people.
Mr. Whlkwab Kwalmert expressed confidence that Usman’s emergence as a member of the Plateau State House of Assembly would translate into effective representation for the Jos North/North State Constituency.
Also, Miss Victoria Yakubu said he has the capacity to excel if given the opportunity, describing him as a leader with the experience and vision needed to deliver.
It would be recalled that Usman had earlier declared his intention to contest for the Jos North/North State Constituency seat in the 2027 elections, pledging to build on his experience in local governance to deliver quality representation.
