A youth group under the aegis of Concerned Zawan Youth Alliance has expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Assembly primary election in Plateau State, urging the party to uphold the result declared at the local government level.

Speaking on behalf of the group, its Chairman, Comrade Andrew Daliop Kachet, commended the peaceful conduct of the primaries across the state, describing the exercise as a reflection of democratic values.

He expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, and the APC leadership for ensuring a smooth process.

Kachet said the people of Jos South had spoken clearly through the ballot, insisting that the will of the electorate must be respected.

According to him, the House of Assembly primary for Jos South was conducted in line with agreed zoning arrangements, with John Mancha Vincent emerging winner after polling 4,305 votes.

“The voice of the people has been heard. The zoning principle and gentleman agreement within Jos South have been respected, and the people have made their choice,” he said.

He noted that the result was declared at the Local Government Collation Centre and reflected the collective decision of party members across districts, including Du, Gyel and Zawan.

The group, therefore, called on the APC leadership at the state and national levels, as well as electoral officials, to ensure that the declared winner is officially recognised.

“We urge the party and relevant authorities to announce and uphold the result as declared. Any attempt to alter it will undermine the democratic process,” Kachet added.

While acknowledging that some individuals may have reservations, he advised aggrieved aspirants to seek redress through appropriate channels rather than resorting to actions capable of causing disunity.

He maintained that members of the group remain loyal to the APC and are committed to supporting all party candidates in the forthcoming elections.

Also speaking, Andrew Daliop, reaffirmed confidence in the conduct of other APC primaries, including those for the Senate and House of Representatives, noting that winners had emerged through a credible process.

He said, “As party loyalists, we accept the results declared.

Those with grievances should follow due process. For us, democracy has taken its course.”

The group reiterated its commitment to peace, unity and the success of the APC in future elections, insisting that the outcome of the Jos South House of Assembly primary must be respected as the true reflection of the people’s will
