A group operating under the ageis of Plateau citizens peace and unity movement on Friday stressed that Brig-Gen. Gakji Shipi (rtd) the Special Adviser, Security and Homeland Safety to Governor Caleb Mutfwang was quoted out of context on his comments during a one-day sensitization programme on peace and peaceful coexistence at the Sharna Palace, Jos, which brought together men and women of Fulani extraction from several local government areas of the state.

Mankam Langnap, the secretary of the group made this known in a statement made available to newsmen in Jos.

” As a group we were at the gathering that took place on Wednesday and are telling members of the public that General Shipi was quoted extremely out of context. ”

” At the meeting Brig Gen Shipi (rtd)
referred to all stakeholders including the Fulanis as stakeholders in the Plateau peace process . ”

“Gen. Shipi at the gathering also urged the Fulani’s to enroll their children in schools, stressing that education is very important to the development of their community, state, and the country at large, stressing the need for them to ensure they live peacefully with one another” .

The group also added that ” At the occasion, General Shipi rtd stressed that Governor Caleb Mutfwang is a lisenting governor who is determined to ensure lasting peace in Plateau, hence why he is carrying along all stakeholders in governance. ”

“General Shipi rtd also added that Gov Caleb Mutfwang is running an all-inclusive and accountable government and called on the Fulanis to support his administration, assuring that Governor Mutfwang’s administration does not take the support of the people for granted.”

Plateau citizens peace and unity movement further noted that General Shipi is dedicated to doing his duties as the Special Adviser to Governor Caleb Mutfwang on security .

“He is collaborating with all stakeholders to ensure that the mandate of Governor Caleb Mutfwang to ensure lasting peace in Plateau is achieved. ‘”

” We are passing a vote of confidence on General Shipi and urge him to continue to do his work diligently. ”

They urged Nigerians and citizens to disregard the misleading narrative, calling it a deliberate attempt by detractors to discredit the Special adviser.
