Determined to hit the ground running and to provide dividends of democracy to the People of Plateau state ,Governor Caleb Mutfwang might have concluded plans to appoint more Commissioners, Special Advisers and Assistants into the administration in the next few days .
Our correspondent gathered that despite the fact that Bar Caleb Mutfwang inherited backlog of challenges ,he is determined to settle down and deliver his campaign promises to the people of the state .
Governor Caleb Mutfwang who took the oath of office as the governor of the state May 29th 2023 , had been maintaining a compact cabinet with just One Commissioner , his Chief of Staff , Secretary to Government of the state SGS , Director of Press and Public affairs and 4 Special advisers who are majorly technocrats.
Even though there has been a smooth running of government activities since he took over as Governor ,members and leaders of the ruling PPD in the state had been lobbying for political appointments and are eagerly waiting for the list .
A source close to the governor revealed that the list of the successful candidates from various LGAs has been prepared and that the governor will soon publish the names and send them to the state house of assembly for screening.
The source said ” Bar Caleb Mutfwang is a man prepared to better the lives of citizens of the state and he would appoint those that would help him achieve his campaign promises ,so far he has appointed round pegs in round holes as political appointees and aides .
“ The governor has done his own homework on the list and he will release them in a matter of days and forward to the legislative arm. No doubt, PDP leaders and members have been expecting it and we hope it calms nerves when released.”
It could be recalled that Bar Caleb Mutfwang while swearing in the Secretary to the Government of the State, Samuel Nanchang Jatau and the Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, Philemon Audu Daffi; and recently 3 Special advisers said all appointments into his cabinet would be based on merit.
He also tasked the appointees to bring to bear, their wealth of experience to add value to good governance in the state.
Meanwhile several stakeholders in Langtang North local government council of the state has commended the Governor of the state for the appointment of Arc Samuel Samuel Nanchang Jatau as SGS .
Bar Seldom Ndam who spoke to our correspondent said the appointment of Samuel Jatau is a step in the right direction considering the Appointee’s wealth of experience, competence and capacity which it believed will be brought to bear towards the attainment of a greater and prosperous Plateau State.
“i appreciate the State Governor, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang for finding him worthy of this sensitive Office and I am confident he would excel .”
