Concerned youths and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Jos-South Local Government Area of Plateau State have called on the party leadership to urgently announce what they described as the authentic result of the House of Assembly primary election held on May 20, 2026.

Addressing journalists in Jos, Hon. Andrew Dalyop on behalf of the group, expressed concern over the delay in the official release of the result, noting that more than 48 hours after the exercise, party members were yet to receive formal confirmation despite voting having been concluded across the local government.

The stakeholders warned that the delay was generating anxiety and suspicion among party faithful, stressing that the credibility of the APC’s internal democratic process must be protected.

According to the group, they are in possession of documents indicating what they believe to be the genuine outcome of the election, alongside another version allegedly containing figures that do not reflect the actual votes cast.

They insisted that the documents would be made available for public scrutiny, urging party authorities to ensure transparency by comparing and verifying the figures.

“We are not here to fight our party, but to defend its credibility and the sanctity of votes cast by members,” the group said, adding that the will of party members must not be undermined.

The stakeholders further stated that based on results known at the polling level, Hon. Mancha John Vincent scored 4,326 votes in the primary election.

They cautioned against any attempt to alter the outcome, warning that imposing results contrary to the votes cast could erode trust and create unnecessary tension in the area.

The group described Jos-South as a politically conscious and peaceful local government, where political balance and mutual respect among communities such as Vwang, Kuru, Gyel, Zaang, and Du have helped sustain stability.

They noted that any action perceived as unjust could disrupt this delicate balance and affect party unity.

The stakeholders appealed to the National Chairman of the APC, Prof. Nentawe Goshwe, the national leadership of the party, Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, and other relevant authorities to intervene and ensure that the authentic result is announced without further delay.

They also called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to support efforts aimed at upholding justice, fairness, and internal democracy within the party.

While urging party members, especially youths, to remain calm and law-abiding, the group emphasized that their agitation was driven by a commitment to truth, peace, and the integrity of the electoral process.

They concluded by stressing that democracy within the party can only be strengthened when the true outcome of elections is respected, noting that loyalty to the APC should not be mistaken for silence in the face of perceived injustice.
