Residents of Jos, the Plateau State capital on Thursday took to the streets in celebration over the election  of the Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Affairs minister, Nentawe Yiltwada, as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress.
At various parts of the state capital, supporters of the APC and the next generation supporters are seen dancing in their own style round the streets, carrying the APC flag in celebration.
Meanwhile the  Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District and former Governor of Plateau State Simon Bako Lalong has expressed delight on the emergence of Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda Goshewe on his emergence as the the new National Chairman of the ruling APC.
Senator Lalong described the emergence of Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda as a source of great joy and inspiration because he brings on board fresh leadership experience and capacity to pilot the affairs of the biggest political party in Africa.
Lalong who is the leader of the APC in Plateau State said Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda is very suitable for the job bringing along his vast experience as a technocrat, politician and public servant.
He said Nentawe whose political profile continues to rise clearly shows that he has been groomed for leadership and service reflecting on his successful previous assignments as University Lecturer, INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner, Minister of the Federal Republic and now Chairman of the largest Party in Africa.
Lalong said the new assignment bestowed upon Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda is a clear indication that his impact as APC Gubernatorial Candidate in the 2023 General elections was rooted in wide acceptability and visionary leadership qualities he possesses.
While assuring him of his personal support and the goodwill of the APC family in Plateau State, Lalong said the new appointment is a great pride to the people of Plateau State which last held the leadership of a ruling political party during the tenure of Chief Solomon Daushep Lar as then leader of his party.
Senator Lalong also thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima, APC National Assembly leadership, APC Governors, NEC Members and all stakeholders for reposing their confidence in Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda Goshewe to lead the party at this very crucial time.
A statement signed by Makut Simon Macham , the Special Adviser Media to Senator Simon Bako Lalong, Plateau South Senatorial District reads that he called  for prayers for the new National Chairman, assuring that the people of Plateau State and the North Central Zone will stand by him in this national assignment.
