Deputy Governor of Plateau State, Hon. Josephine Piyo, on Tuesday joined a delegation of Female Deputy Governors on a courtesy visit to the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.

Chief Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor of Plateau State reads that the delegation engaged in conversations centered on women empowerment, gender equality and the challenges faced in education, healthcare and economic empowerment of women and youths.

The statement reads that ” During the courtesy visit, the delegation underscored the importance of investing in children, recognizing them as the future of Nigeria.

To actualize this shared vision, the delegation pledged unwavering support and close collaboration with the government to create a supportive and conducive environment for women to thrive and excel in all facets of life.

The statement quoted that ” reaffirming her commitment to the cause, the First Lady graciously assured the delegation of her unwavering dedication towards protecting the rights of women and children.

She also highlighted the urgent need for assistance in rehabilitating individuals displaced by the crisis in Plateau State.

Hon. Josephine Piyo, Deputy Governor of Plateau State, expressed optimism that through strengthened collective efforts and cohesive collaborations, a brighter future can be created not just for the people of Plateau State, but for all Nigerians.

Together, they aimed to build a society that embraces gender equality and celebrates the empowerment of women, ensuring that the rights and well-being of every citizen are safeguarded.

Piyo stated that it is through such alliances and initiatives that a transformative society can be forged, laying the foundation for a prosperous and inclusive Nigeria.

She added that as progress continues to unfold, the unwavering commitment to women empowerment and gender equality will remain at the forefront of the state government’s agenda.
