– On the second day of the prestigious African Energy Week (AEW) conference, a pivotal high-level session titled “Exploration Hotspots” brought together industry leaders to discuss the continent’s untapped energy resources. Among the distinguished panelists was Mr. Udy U. Ntia, Executive Vice President of Upstream at NNPC Ltd, who delivered a compelling address underscoring Nigeria’s national oil corporation’s strategic vision for Africa’s energy landscape.

In his remarks, Mr. Ntia emphasized NNPC Ltd’s unwavering dedication to harnessing Africa’s immense upstream potential. He spotlighted the company’s proactive initiatives in frontier exploration, resource expansion, and collaborative ventures designed to generate enduring value for investors, governments, and communities alike. “Africa’s upstream sector holds transformative promise,” Ntia stated, “and NNPC Ltd is at the forefront, pioneering efforts that turn potential into prosperity.”

Ntia further highlighted the critical role of strategic partnerships in enhancing energy security while promoting sustainable development and industrial advancement across the continent.

These alliances, he noted, are essential for fostering innovation, mitigating risks, and ensuring equitable growth in an era of global energy transitions.

The session, held amid vibrant discussions at the Cape Town International Convention Centre, resonated with attendees from over 50 African nations and international stakeholders. It comes at a timely juncture for the African energy sector, where recent discoveries and policy reforms are signaling renewed investor confidence.

Through these endeavors, NNPC Ltd is not only solidifying Nigeria’s status as a premier destination for upstream investments but also emerging as a linchpin in crafting a resilient and prosperous energy future for the entire African continent.

As AEW continues through the week, expectations are high for further announcements that could accelerate these ambitions.

The African Energy Week, organized by the African Energy Chamber, serves as a premier platform for dialogue, deals, and decarbonization strategies, drawing thousands of delegates to advance Africa’s role in the global energy mix. For more updates from the event, visit the official AEW website.
