– The Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd), Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, on Tuesday hosted the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, at the NNPC Towers in Abuja as both organisations pledged to intensify collaboration in combating crude oil theft and vandalism of critical oil and gas infrastructure.

The closed-door meeting focused on deepening existing synergy between NNPC Ltd and the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) to protect national energy assets and boost crude production levels.

Engr. Ojulari described the partnership as indispensable to stabilising oil output and safeguarding Nigeria’s energy security. He reaffirmed NNPC’s commitment to enhanced cooperation through real-time intelligence sharing, joint operational planning, and the deployment of advanced security technologies across high-risk and high-value assets.

In his response, Air Marshal Aneke reiterated the Air Force’s unwavering resolve to secure pipelines, flow stations, offshore platforms, and other strategic energy infrastructure critical to the nation’s economic stability.

The meeting comes amid sustained efforts by security agencies and NNPC Ltd to curb the multibillion-naira losses caused by crude theft and vandalism, which have in recent years significantly hampered Nigeria’s ability to meet its OPEC production quota and federation revenue targets.
