North Central Development Commission (NCDC) has expressed deep sadness over the recent attacks on innocent citizens in Kwara and Niger States, describing the incidents as highly disturbing and deeply unfortunate.

In a message issued on behalf of the Board and Management, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Commission, Dr. Cyril Yiltsen Tsenyil, said the attacks represent a major setback to the peace, stability, and development of the affected States and the North Central region at large.

Dr. Tsenyil strongly condemned the terrorist attack on Eruku community in Kwara State, noting that such acts of violence undermine development efforts and disrupt the socio-economic growth of the area.

Similarly, the NCDC Chief Executive expressed outrage over the reported abduction of an unspecified number of students and pupils of St. Mary’s Catholic Primary and Secondary Schools, Agwara, Niger State.

He condemned the attack and kidnapping, stressing that the incident would significantly affect educational development in the State and further discourage efforts aimed at improving school enrollment and expanding opportunities for young people.

While commiserating with the Governments and people of both States, as well as families of the victims, Dr. Tsenyil reaffirmed the NCDC’s commitment to supporting initiatives aimed at strengthening security, promoting peace, and combating terrorism across the North Central Zone.

He also urged citizens to cooperate with security agencies by providing timely intelligence and useful information that can help avert future attacks, facilitate quick rescue operations, apprehend perpetrators, and ensure they are brought to justice.
