Pateau ready to partner globally for peace and sustainable development says Gov Mutfwang

Gov. Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to creating a conducive environment that enables businesses to thrive in the state.

 

He made this known while receiving a high-powered delegation from the European Union (EU) and Search for Common Ground who visited the Plateau State Government to explore partnership opportunities in peacebuilding and development.

 

Represented by the Commissioner for information and communication Hon Joyce Ramnap , Mutfwang vowed to make Plateau one of the most peaceful and business-friendly states in Nigeria.

 

She said Pateau is ready to partner globally for peace and sustainable development.

 

Ramnap reiterated Governor Caleb Mutfwang’s commitment to peace through platforms like the Plateau State Advisory Council on Interreligious Harmony, the Plateau State Peacebuilding Agency and Operation Rainbow.

 

” The state government is working tirelessly to revamp critical sectors of the economy of the state.

 

Speaking earlier the delegation, led by Gift Omoniwa, Acting Country Director of Search for Common Ground, included Mr. Ruben Alba (EU Team Lead), Winifred Achu (EU Program Manager), and other officials from Search for Common Ground. Ms Omoniwa said their visit evaluated the EU-funded IRENEW project which strengthened interfaith harmony and youth engagement across Plateau’s 17 LGAs.

 

 

They expressed interest in further collaboration with the state on peace and early conflict response systems.

Ruben Alba assured of the EU’s commitment to adding value to Agriculture, ICT and Infrastructural development.

 

Also in a related development,the Plateau State Government also received a high-profile delegation from the United States, led by Ambassador Dr. Linda Kaleidoscope, at Government House in Little Rayfield, Jos.

The delegation’s visit aimed to collaborate efforts with the government to invest in key sectors such as agriculture, education, tourism, and initiatives benefiting women and children, under the slogan “Dream Plateau, Change Plateau”.

Hon. Ramnap thanked the delegation for choosing Plateau State to invest, highlighting that the government of Governor Barr Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang is open for investments that will bring dividends of democracy, innovation, and development to the state.

The meeting discussed potential areas of collaboration, including agriculture, education, tourism, and initiatives benefiting women and children. The Plateau State Government has reiterated its commitment to creating an enabling environment for investments that benefit its citizens.

Top government officials present at the meeting included Hon. Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Hon. Mohammed Nyalum; Hon. Commissioner for Education, Dr. Kachallom Gang; Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Arc Sylvanus Dontoe; and Commissioner of Health, Hon. Nicholas Ba’amlong and Hon Ubandoma Laven the Commissioner for Works.
