Commissioner of Information and Communication, Plateau State, Rt Hon Joyce Lohya Ramnap, mni at the weekend was conferred with the prestigious Award of Excellence in Public Communication at the Plateau Excellence Award 2025.

According to the organizers “This esteemed recognition acknowledges her outstanding contributions to shaping narratives and promoting effective communication in Plateau State.

They also said ” The award ceremony was a testament to Commissioner Ramnap’s dedication to excellence in public communication, and her tireless efforts to promote Plateau State’s image and interests.”

In her acceptance speech, Hon. Ramnap expressed gratitude to the Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, for providing her with the platform to serve as the Image Maker and Public Defender of Plateau State Under the “Time Is Now” administration.

She highlighted the critical role of communication in driving socio-economic growth and development in Plateau state.

Ramnap also took the opportunity to address the recent directives on the closure of schools in Plateau State, emphasizing that these measures are temporary and aimed at ensuring the safety and well-being of students, teachers, and school personnel. “The Plateau State Government wishes to reassure citizens that these measures are necessary to prevent potential threats and guarantee the security of our educational institutions,” she stated.

 

She appealed to parents, guardians, school administrators, and community leaders to remain calm, cooperate fully with government directives, and share verified information only. “We urge citizens to avoid rumour-mongering and the spread of unverified reports, which could lead to unnecessary tension,” she added.

 

The Commissioner reiterated the plateau state government’s commitment to maintaining peace, stability, and public safety, assuring citizens that the situation is under control. “Government remains committed to ensuring that peace, stability, and public safety are upheld,” she concluded.
