In a 3 day Security Workshop held at Crispan Hotel Jos, on Tuesday 25th March, 2025. With the theme Effective Security “Communication: Leveraging on Digital Tools for De-escalation of Security” organized by Institute of Social Media Analysts, Institute of Conflict Management and Negotiation Analysts and Police School of Public Relations.

These institutions have partnered together to come up with a proposal for the establishment of social media monitoring centers in every state with the aim to monitor digital conversations for early warning signs of threats, engage directly with online communities to counteract misinformation and hate speech, gather actionable intelligence to support security agencies in proactive management crises and promote peace building effort by amplifying positive narratives and conflict resolution messages.

The initiative is not about surveillance for limiting free speech but about ensuring the digital spaces are not weaponized against peace and stability.
