A governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress in Bauchi State, Alhaji Abdullahi Adamu Usman, popularly known as Danchina, has unveiled his vision for the state, with a promise to drive agricultural revolution, strengthen security and promote self-reliance among citizens.

Danchina, who spoke to journalists in Jos, said Bauchi and Nigeria at large could only achieve sustainable growth if citizens embraced productivity and reduced over-dependence on government.

He lamented the current economic hardship in the country, noting that inflation and declining purchasing power had forced many Nigerians into mere survival.

According to him, the nation’s rising population and worsening economic realities make it imperative to abandon outdated systems of governance and adopt practical, people-oriented policies.

The APC governorship hopeful identified agriculture as a critical sector capable of transforming Bauchi’s economy, creating jobs and boosting internally generated revenue if properly harnessed.

He pledged that if elected governor, his administration would engage youths in large-scale agriculture and other productive ventures, thereby reducing unemployment and dependence on scarce white-collar jobs.

Speaking on insecurity, Danchina linked the rising wave of violence to poverty and unemployment, stressing that communities must be actively involved in safeguarding their environment while government strengthens security structures.

He also called for accountability and integrity in public service, urging leaders to uphold the oath of office and place public interest above personal gains.

The aspirant warned against Nigeria’s growing dependence on borrowing, describing it as a dangerous trend that could mortgage the future of coming generations, even as he called for stricter regulation of the mining sector to curb illegal activities and promote local processing.

On religious harmony and national unity, Danchina urged Nigerians to shun division and embrace peaceful coexistence, discipline and collective responsibility, insisting that only through unity and sacrifice can meaningful development be achieved.
