Alhaji Saleh Zazzaga, the Chairman of the North-Central All Progressives Congress (APC) Forum, has commended the Party committee members in Plateau state for their exemplary role in organizing a highly successful and well-coordinated reception for Governor, Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, following his formal defection to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Zazzaga particularly singled out the Contact and Mobilization committee of the occasion which has Dr Bernard Doro the Minister for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Eradication as Chairman and Hon Ephraim Usman the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs for their outstanding efforts in ensuring that the occasion was highly successful .
Zazzaga also lauded Hon Samuel Gwott the General Manager of Plateau Express Services for the role he played in making the occasion a huge success.
The grand reception, held on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at the Jos Polo Field, marked a significant political milestone in the North-Central geopolitical zone.
It brought together high-profile dignitaries, including Vice President Kashim Shettima (who represented President Bola Ahmed Tinubu), APC National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, and leaders from the Progressive Governors’ Forum.
Speaking on behalf of the North-Central APC Forum, Alhaji Zazzaga further praised the Central Planning Committee led by Rt. Hon. Ahmed Idris Wase (former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives) for their dedication, meticulous planning, and seamless execution of the event.
He highlighted the committee’s efforts in ensuring smooth logistics, robust security, effective crowd management, and broad stakeholder participation, which contributed to the reception’s resounding success and memorable atmosphere.
“The North-Central APC Forum salutes the committee members for their tireless commitment and professionalism in delivering a befitting welcome for His Excellency Governor Caleb Mutfwang,” Zazzaga stated.

“Their hard work has not only strengthened the APC’s unity in Plateau State but has also solidified the party’s dominance across the entire North-Central region, paving the way for greater collaboration with the federal government under President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.”
Zazzaga, who has long advocated for Mutfwang’s alignment with the APC having led earlier calls for the governor to join the party described the reception as the “successful culmination” of sustained efforts to promote political realignment for the benefit of Plateau State and the broader zone.
He emphasized that the event underscored the APC’s growing strength and the potential for accelerated development, peace, and inclusive governance in the region.
Our correspondent reports that the reception followed Governor Mutfwang’s formal resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in late December 2025 and his initial alignment with the APC earlier in January.
The governor received the APC flag and broom symbol, pledging full support for President Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid and assuring massive votes from Plateau and the North-Central.
Alhaji Zazzaga urged all stakeholders to build on this momentum, focusing on reconciliation, service delivery, and consolidating the APC’s gains ahead of future elections.
The North-Central APC Forum remains committed to advancing progressive ideals and supporting initiatives that foster unity and development across the zone , Zazzaga further added.
