The All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman Prof Nentawe Yilwatda on Monday kicked started a two weeks medical outreach in Plateau state.

Our correspondent reports that the medical outreach is been carried out by USA-based Sharing Hope Mission Medical Team, who are in Plateau State to conduct the free medical outreach supported by the APC National Chairman alongside other doctors practicing in the country.

Our correspondent reports that the team consists of over 30 doctors and specialists from various fields of medicine who would provide humanitarian healthcare services to communities across the state.

Prof. Nentawe expressed delight at welcoming the international team, noting that the outreach aligns with his commitment to improving the wellbeing of the people and ensuring that even the less privileged have access to quality healthcare..

He said the health programme aligned with the position of President Bola Tinubu, who has emphasised the importance of prioritizing the health and social well-being of Nigerians as a key part of his Renewed Hope Agenda.

Prof Nentawe said “we must thank the Sharing Hope International Medical Mission for agreeing to support this initiative, Already, we’ve carried out a medical outreach where we attended to over 400 people. Now, we are receiving some of the most important equipment and experts we need. We have professionals from France, the U.S., and Canada supporting us to ensure that Nigerians get the best possible medical care.

“I am optimistic that within these two weeks of their presence here, they will train Nigerian medical personnel and build the capacity among our doctors to perform surgeries that were previously difficult.”

“My prayer is that Nigerians here will benefit greatly. I must also commend the team leader of Sharing Hope Mission Medical Team,Dr Emeka Anyanwu who is coordinating this program alongside other medical personnel from the U.SA . ”

“They would also support nurses, private clinics, and hospitals to strengthen their capacity. So, it’s not just about coming to perform surgeries and leaving, but ensuring our own medical staff gain lasting skills and knowledge.”

“At the moment, we have about 35 personnel already on ground, apart from the locally based team in Nigeria and staff of the JUTH (Jos University Teaching Hospital). More experts will be arriving in the next few days. ” The APC National Chairman added.

The Team lead of Sharing Hope Mission Medical Team Dr Emeka Anyanwu said “we have five specialties we are focusing on, We have gynecologists, ophthalmologists, orthopedic doctors, and general surgeons participating in this program.”

A citizen of Plateau state Mr Micheal Nanle ,expressed appreciation to the APC National Chairman for this gesture and support to the less privileged in the society.
