In a bid to bolster financial inclusion among young Nigerians, the NNPC Foundation has rolled out a comprehensive Financial Literacy Training Sensitization Programme targeting Batch B, Stream 2 members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

The initiative, which reached corps members across the country in recent weeks, focused on equipping participants with essential tools for economic self-reliance. Through a series of interactive sessions and hands-on exercises, attendees delved into core financial principles, including budgeting, debt management, and savvy saving strategies.

The program also highlighted pathways to entrepreneurship and investment, encouraging participants to turn knowledge into actionable opportunities.

“This training is more than just education—it’s a catalyst for change,” said a spokesperson for the NNPC Foundation, emphasizing the program’s role in fostering long-term financial resilience.

Over 1,000 corps members from various NYSC orientations camps participated, engaging in group discussions and real-world simulations that bridged theoretical concepts with practical application.
The effort aligns with broader national goals to curb youth unemployment and promote sustainable development. By prioritizing financial literacy, the NNPC Foundation aims to empower the next generation of Nigerians to navigate economic challenges with confidence, from personal savings to launching viable startups.
This marks the latest in the foundation’s ongoing youth empowerment series, building on previous collaborations with NYSC to address skill gaps in emerging adults.

As Nigeria grapples with inflation and market volatility, such programs champion the corporate sector’s commitment to inclusive growth.
