Vincent Bulus Venman, the member representing Langtang North and South Federal Constituency in the National Assembly.
For years, representation in many constituencies meant distant voices and delayed promises. In Langtang North and South, that narrative is changing. Under Hon. Venman’s stewardship, representation has become practical, visible, and rooted in the daily realities of the people.
From Policy to Pavement: Infrastructure as a Bridge to Prosperity
One of the most immediate indicators of development in any constituency is infrastructure. Hon. Venman has prioritised projects that connect people, not just places.
Education: Building Minds That Will Build Langtang
Hon. Venman’s development blueprint is anchored on the belief that human capital is the greatest asset.
Across Langtang North and South, new classroom blocks have been constructed, while old ones have been renovated. Learning environments that once discouraged attendance are now welcoming. Desks, writing materials, and textbooks have been distributed to public schools to ease the burden on parents and teachers.
Beyond physical infrastructure, his scholarship and bursary schemes have kept hundreds of students in school. For families who once faced the painful choice between food and tuition, these interventions have become the difference between stagnation and opportunity.
Education, in his view, is not a privilege—it is the foundation of every other sector.
Health: Bringing Care Closer to the People
Healthcare in rural Nigeria has long been challenged by distance and cost. Hon. Venman has worked to close that gap.
Primary health centres in key communities have been upgraded with medical equipment, essential drugs, and support for health workers. Outreach programmes have provided free medical screening and treatment in villages, ensuring that mothers, children, and the elderly receive timely care before minor conditions escalate into emergencies.
This emphasis on preventive and accessible healthcare reflects a broader philosophy: development must preserve life before it builds anything else.
Empowerment: Tools, Not Just Talk
While infrastructure and education create the environment for growth, empowerment builds the people who will sustain it.
Hon. Venman’s empowerment programmes have targeted women, youths, and small-scale farmers. Agricultural inputs, improved seed varieties, and extension support have been provided to farmers to boost output. Women have received vocational training and starter kits in tailoring and hairdressing.
Water for Life: Over 32 Communities Reached
One of the most pressing challenges in rural Langtang has been access to clean, potable water. Hon. Venman has addressed this directly.
Through his water intervention programme, more than 32 communities across Langtang North and South have benefited from newly drilled boreholes. Some are motorised systems serving larger populations, while others are hand-operated boreholes for smaller settlements.
For mothers who once trekked long distances for water, and for schools that struggled during the dry season, this intervention has restored health, saved time, and improved dignity.
Economic Empowerment: Investing in People
Beyond infrastructure and education, Hon. Venman’s leadership has also focused on economic empowerment for small and medium-scale enterprises.
In what has been described as “The Venman Chronicles of Two Years,” no fewer than 10 constituents have received direct financial support to grow their businesses. Some beneficiaries received ₦1,000,000 each, while others received ₦500,000, depending on the scale of their ventures.
The initiative is designed to promote independence, not dependence—helping traders, farmers, artisans, and young entrepreneurs expand their businesses and create jobs within the constituency.
Youths and women have also received skills training and starter packs in tailoring, welding, carpentry, and ICT, enabling them to become self-reliant.
The result is a growing network of micro-entrepreneurs across the constituency. These are not handouts, but tools of dignity aimed at turning dependence into independence.
Leadership That Stays Close to the Ground
Perhaps the most defining feature of Hon. Venman’s representation is accessibility. Constituents describe a leader who is present at town hall meetings, festivals, and community gatherings—one who listens before he legislates.
This proximity has created a strong feedback loop between the people and their representative. Needs are identified early, projects are prioritised based on impact rather than politics, and trust in public service is gradually being restored.
A Constituency Rewriting Its Story
Langtang North and South have always been known for their rich history, cultural heritage, and enterprising spirit. What was missing was a bridge between that legacy and modern opportunity.
Hon. Vincent Bulus Venman is building that bridge—one road, one classroom, one clinic, and one empowered family at a time. His approach is deliberate rather than flashy, and his legacy is reflected not in headlines, but in lives being quietly transformed across communities.
