The Wife of the Executive Chairman, Mikang LGA, Mrs. Gloria Alkali has kicked up activities marking the 2026 World Breast Feeding Week with a call on breast feeding mothers to adopt the exclusive breast feeding method to their babies.
Mrs Alkali also stated that the benefits of exclusive breast feeding are numerous and are the only way that the health of a child can be guaranteed.
The First Lady appreciated the wife of the Executive Governor of Plateau State for ensuring that the week is celebrated and many other family oriented programs initiated by the first Lady, Barrister (Mrs) Helen Mutfwang.
Highpoint of the occasion was a health talk by the Local Government Nutrition focal person, presentation of gifts to the most exclusive breast fed babies , and distribution of toiletries to all mothers in attendance.
Good messages were delivered by the Deputy Chairman, Mikang LGA, Hon. Nungkat Koplam, the representative of the Mo Youm, Lifidi Longkrom, and the supervisory councilor for social services, Hon. Nankin Peter.
