Jos Member representing Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Yusuf Gagdi, has called for unity among members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) following the conclusion of the party’s National Assembly primaries.

Gagdi, in a broadcast to his constituents on Saturday described the exercise as peaceful and commended party faithful across the 36 wards of the constituency for their massive participation and orderly conduct.

He expressed gratitude to God for a successful process and appreciated party members for their support, confidence and show of love during the primaries.

“I sincerely thank the APC family across the 36 wards that make up Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam Federal Constituency for their overwhelming support and peaceful conduct.

Your participation has once again demonstrated the unity, political maturity and strength of our people,” he said.

The lawmaker also commended the leadership of the party and the electoral committee for organising the exercise, noting that despite attempts by some “unauthorised individuals” to announce results outside the legitimate process, he and his supporters remained calm.

“While there were attempts by some unauthorised individuals to announce results outside the legitimate process, we remained focused because we knew we stood on the side of truth and due process. Today, the truth has prevailed,” he added.

Gagdi emphasised the need for reconciliation and collective progress, stressing that the primaries should not be seen as a contest of winners and losers.

“Democracy is not a war. There is no winner and no vanquished. We all belong to one APC family, united by a common desire to serve our people and strengthen our democracy,” he said.

He congratulated other aspirants who participated in the exercise, as well as candidates who emerged victorious in various primaries across the country,
